Who is Bianca Obradovic?
Bianca Obradovic is a First Nations and Māori: writer, filmmaker, engineer, technician, travel enthusiast, foodie and a sucker for choosing the hard routes. She loves to tell stories and expand her knowledge in both sciences and the arts. Studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at QUT, as a secondary student she has already been a part of writing for many entertainment and technical businesses and has contributed to many of her own arts in photography, films, creative and non-fiction writings. Bringing science and art closer is her dream as a future communicator.

Explores the kidnapping horror thriller involving an ex-boyfriend, delving into themes of obsession and fear. Edited, directed, and videographer.
Coyote Deed (Short Film) - August 2022
Cameoed, writer, and director for this short film, which explores themes in a Quentin Tarantinesque style, featuring nonlinear storytelling, sharp dialogue, and a blend of dark humour and violence
Mister Babadook Takes a Trip – May 2023
Turned a horror film of a depriving mother’s grief into a pop-up book, and made the villain of the story ‘The Babadook’ go on a holiday. It is about how mental health will always haunt us so it’s better to accept and move on with the feelings than neglect it. I participated in the visuals, parts of the writing and recording the processes of the production.
Film Script Narrative - May 2023
Developed a narrative for a film script group project, addressing the controversial topic of women's rights related to childbirth in late 1980s Germany. This project explores the societal challenges and personal struggles faced by women during this period.
Non-Fiction Piece (Personal Essay) – January 2024
A 2091-word reflective essay based on a personal experience in the hospital, focusing on mental health and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. This piece is part of the KWB116 unit and integrates relevant medical and psychological research to enhance depth and context.
Goethite (Novel) - Ongoing
A steampunk fantasy novel exploring themes of cultural identity, gender dynamics, and the impact of technology on Indigenous heritage. The protagonist, Kyr, navigates her mixed-race identity and seeks to balance her technological upbringing with her cultural roots.
